I had the Canon S3IS for about 8 months. Love it!
So far I have not found a need for adapters. But basically, Canon offers two configurations - a standard barrel adapter that fits into the main lens, which you can deploy a wide tele-or. I think there are two different adapters - one for each plant.
If you have a lot of wide-angle shots, you can choose from wide-angle converter. This is an area where S3 is inadequate. It is for a wider 35mm equivalent, which is not really very much normal.
In my experience, the television Configuation 12x original is so good, I doubt you want a TV converter add!
One possible advantage of others via an adapter that you can add filters or a hood.
I recommend that - if the S3, and if you want, adapters, lenses, etc. - Accessories add buy from Canon. Yes, they are more expensive. But believe me, in an area where you really what you pay fo.
And a shit lens, accessories and distorted, a color rendering pitifully NEVER a good buy!
